More Qwest QMOE deployments coming this summer!

We have noticed quite a few new Qwest Metro Optical Ethernet (QMOE) deployments scheduled for this summer which can be a good opportunity to sell high speed Internet to business customers within these new areas for those service providers who have QMOE service provider ports.

Qwest offers 100Mbps for $1850 in specific buildings (includes loop)

 In order to win deals in markets where Qwest has seen increasing competitive pressure, Qwest will offer promo pricing to Internet customers using Ethernet local access. Promotional pricing will be made available in particular QC markets where Qwest and the competition are in the same building.

Qwest lowers loop rates in metro areas (some rural areas go up)

This week we received notice that Qwest retail loops for T1s dropped from $200 to $150 in metro areas. This is good news if you happen to be in a metro area but bad news if you are in a rural area

Qwest raising rates on June 4th, 2010

Qwest is currently mailing out letters to their customers that they intend on increasing rates for several small business services within their (14) state footprint. This will impact the following services: 

Qwest and CenturyTel to Merge

CenturyTel Inc. agreed Thursday to buy Qwest Comunications International Inc. in an all-stock deal valuing Qwest at about $10.6 billion. http://www.centurylinkqwestmerger.com
