We have noticed quite a few new Qwest Metro Optical Ethernet (QMOE) deployments scheduled for this summer which can be a good opportunity to sell high speed Internet to business customers within these new areas for those service providers who have QMOE service provider ports.

This week we met with Blake Wetzel, the VP of the Qwest Business Partner program while he was visiting in Seattle. He was pumped up about the CenturyLink merger and thought the outlook for agents like CTG3 looked very positive.

In order to win deals in markets where Qwest has seen increasing competitive pressure, Qwest will offer promo pricing to Internet customers using Ethernet local access. Promotional pricing will be made available in particular QC markets where Qwest and the competition are in the same building.

This week we received notice that Qwest retail loops for T1s dropped from $200 to $150 in metro areas. This is good news if you happen to be in a metro area but bad news if you are in a rural area
